Never hurt my foot topOr sides. I have a pretty thin foot but these run a little narrow and tight. My mechanical skills are average at best (yes, I am one of the guys that will try to put it together before reading the instructions smh), but I was able to put it together with ease. Design wise, the Evo looks pretty unassuming for its price, but thats not a complaint. Always good to have a backup anyway. Both my toes and wide feet are enclosed in the shoes. I was unsure about these when they arrived, they felt smaller/tighter than the ones I currently have but they are a different style. Only walked 3 blocks.
