Most of the headphones are made of plastic except for the metal inserts to adjust the length of the ear cups. There is no damage or chipping or fading with the case. The ear pieces function by use of bluetooth from smartphone or iphone. I bought this to attach to my pull up bar. Amazon reimbursed very efficiently. Dont know if Id pay full price.
