I had to leave the flip section off as it just doesnt work. I am sleeping better now and very pleased with these earphones. Used to replace the pads on my HyperX Cloud 2 headset. It has the USB connection in, but not out so you cant use the case for charging other devices, like your phone. I like the toe protector. I had a similar interaction with Keen shoes a couple of years ago (a problem that didnt really impact the shoe). These seem very much like the old Skull Candy earbuds I paid $40 back in 2010. schade. The design of slide to open is so cool!
